Alex Pretti: Additional Considerations
More lies and stupidity
This is a follow-up to my previous post in which I detailed exactly how and why the shooting of Alex Pretti was justified by any halfway reasonable standard. I focused that post specifically on the shooting itself because that is the key factor which clearly sparked the tidal wave of outrage and hysteria. This crashout was predicated on the narrative that ICE agents willfully murdered a peaceful protester in cold blood. If no shooting takes place, obviously that narrative can’t form. Agitators have had countless scuffles with ICE agents at this point and you’ve never heard of any of the rest of them except for Renee Good, who you have heard of for the same reason.
Of course, because this is such a high-profile incident, people have autistically analyzed everything that is tangentially related to it and formed a bunch of side-narratives that exist alongside the main one. These side-narratives are at least as inaccurate/stupid as the primary one and there are enough of them that I find it worthwhile to respond to and debunk them. This will, again, be a useful reference post to spam at people when they inevitably continue to say all this dumb stuff well into the future. I’ll cover these additional considerations one at a time.
#1: Alex Pretti Was an ICU Nurse
The fact that I’ve seen this phrase spammed in regards to Alex Pretti—“ICU nurse”—proves beyond any doubt that the overwrought reaction to his death is driven by emotion, not by logic. The idea is to ramp up the sympathy by pointing out what a perfect amazing angel of a human being he supposedly was. And I mean, sure, working as a nurse is a respectable job (so is working as a federal law enforcement officer), but so what? Do we really think that if he’d turned out to be an unemployed sex offender, all of a sudden all these liberals would be singing Trump’s praises?
Did the ICE agents recognize Alex Pretti as an “ICU nurse” and think to themselves “Oh yeah, we got a nurse on our hands? DEFINITELY murderating this one!” What a joke. More likely, the ICE agents recognized Alex Pretti for the type of conduct he displayed a few days before his fatal encounter. During another confrontation with ICE agents, Alex Pretti spit at them (a potential felony), yelled “Assault me, motherfucker!”, and kicked the tail light out of their vehicle (also a felony), shown below:
After doing this, federal agents exited the vehicle and attempted to arrest Pretti, but he was able to escape with the aid of the mob of fellow agitators that were nearby (third felony). It’s unclear if any of the ICE agents present when Pretti was shot recognized him personally, but the behavior described above is typical of their encounters with “protesters,” who frequently became violent and displayed a willingness to commit crimes in order to obstruct ICE operations. Obviously, under such conditions, it was eminently reasonable for them to consider such a person a potential threat, especially once he began to physically resist arrest.
Pretti said it himself: “Assault me, motherfucker!” He wasn’t some harmless little angel, he was a violent multi-felon literally out looking for a fight with federal agents. The fact that he hadn’t yet been arrested and locked up for his prior crimes also indicates how much restraint the federal government has actually shown here, BTW. After January 6, the Biden administration made it a top priority of federal law enforcement to identify and prosecute every single individual involved, arguably with good reason. Likewise, in a just world, every single one of these agitators who has committed crimes against ICE agents and/or obstructed them would be in prison.
In my opinion, Trump would be fully justified in deploying the FBI to track down and lock up every single one of these people and deploying the military to crush their continued criminal activities in the meantime. No one questioned that when the left did it. The fact that he hasn’t done so demonstrates how lopsided things still are when it comes to who must actually follow the law and who gets to ignore it.
#2: Alex Pretti’s Second Amendment Rights Were Violated Because He Had a Gun on Him
Possibly the stupidest narrative of them all, and that’s saying something. The implication here is that the right to carry a gun comes with no corresponding responsibilities, nor risks if one chooses to ignore said responsibilities. Pure, crystallized retardation. This is the typical libtard logic where the physical presence of a gun itself is somehow to blame for bad things happening, as opposed to the behavior of the person carrying the gun. If you are physically violent towards police while carrying a firearm, and then you appear to reach for said firearm, what exactly do you think is going to happen? Does the Second Amendment come with an inalienable right to get the first shot on cops while you’re already fighting with them?
The crashout crowd implicitly believes that Alex Pretti was super innocent and meek and never posed any threat to the police, which is one reason why that video of him kicking out the tail light of a federal vehicle, spitting at cops, etc., is relevant. Let’s further consider the actual nature of Alex Pretti in this interaction. If he was some kind of Second Amendment fanatic that just always had a gun on him out of principle, that would be one thing, but the opposite is the case. Pretti’s family stated that they had actually never known him to carry his weapon. That means he specifically made sure to arm himself for this particular interaction—for his “ICE watch” cop-baiting activities. Why would he do that?
Did he think he might need his weapon for self-defense against criminals, the typical reason that one would carry? No, or else he’d have carried it around with him more generally, which again, he didn’t. The only plausible conclusion one can draw from this information is that Alex Pretti thought there was a real possibility of him pulling that firearm and using it in “self-defense” against ICE agents. Now why would he think that? Well, being embedded in a far-left anti-ICE activist group, he was no doubt fully immersed in the left-wing narrative that ICE agents are evil gestapo that are rounding people up illegally because of bigotry and racism.
If you actually believe that you’re going out to confront fascist brownshirts who are the actual lawbreakers—again, this is the typical left-wing narrative—then you might reasonably conclude that you would be justified in shooting them in self-defense should they attempt to detain you. Of course, this viewpoint is completely delusional and is the exact opposite of reality. But circumstances suggest that it’s probably what Alex Pretti believed and it’s entirely plausible that it is the reason he died, because he bought into these lies hook, line and sinker. Not only did Democrats fail to push back against this nonsense, they actively played into it—Jerry Nadler, a sitting member of Congress, outright stated that people would be justified in shooting ICE agents.
So in all likelihood the left convinced this guy to try and shoot cops, and then they propped up his corpse as a PR stunt after their gaslighting got him killed. But yeah, clearly this is all somehow a Second Amendment issue. As we all know, the Second Amendment absolutely guarantees your right to fight with cops while armed and then not get shot.
#3: The ICE agents unnecessarily escalated the interaction prior to their shooting of Pretti
The infamous clip that leads up to Pretti’s shooting begins with an ICE agent shoving a woman back, who then falls to the ground. This woman appears to be one of Pretti’s fellow agitators who was filming the ICE agents at very close range with her phone (obviously, from within arm’s reach). Once this happens, Pretti inserts himself between the agent and the woman, making physical contact with the officer who promptly pepper sprays him. The other agents quickly approach as the decision is made to arrest Pretti and I’ve already written about the rest.
I’ve seen a bunch of lefties cry and whine about this sequence of events, apparently believing that the woman didn’t deserve to get shoved, and then Pretti didn’t deserve to get pepper sprayed, and then Pretti didn’t deserve to have six guys gang up on him (I guess the cops are supposed to fight him one-on-one like it’s a shonen anime). The assumptions that seem to underlie this viewpoint are that one, these agitators were totally “peaceful” and harmless, and two, that law enforcement has no right to escalate its use of force when faced with physical resistance.
This is based on seeing a single video clip taken out of context, being generally clueless about the broader context of these interactions, and of course, a high degree of emotional bias based on the fact that these people don’t think immigration law should be enforced in the first place (and some of them also believe outright falsehoods about the legality of enforcing said laws). This is, again, why the other video of Pretti smashing up an LEO vehicle, spitting at agents, and taunting them to “assault me, motherfucker!” is important. It shows more accurately what kind of “protesters” agents were actually dealing with.
These were people who were overtly hostile to law enforcement and actively sought to impede it, and successfully did so on many occasions, including this one. Plenty of ICE agents had faced direct interference and violence from these so-called “protesters” at this point; they weren’t dealing with respectful people filming from a safe distance, they were dealing with deranged people who were up close and looking for confrontation. At the start of the video clip that ends with Pretti’s death, you can see him actively directing traffic out in the street next to the ICE agents and their vehicle, the goal of which was almost certainly to impede their vehicle from leaving.
That’s a batshit insane thing to do and in any other context besides that of leftist agitators interfering with Donald Trump’s DHS, everyone (lefties included) would immediately recognize it as such. Seriously, next time you are out driving and you see cops have pulled someone over on the side of the road, try this and see what they think of it. This is also why the woman gets shoved at the beginning of the video—to get her out of the road when asking politely wasn’t going to work. Then, even after being pepper sprayed, while Pretti tries to shield his eyes, he still does not attempt to actually retreat from the interaction, which again anyone (even retarded leftists) can recognize is insane in any interaction with police. As he said previously (“assault me, motherfucker!”), he wanted agents to attack him and that’s ultimately what he got.
This ties into the second implicit assumption of the pro-Pretti narrative, the assumption that law enforcement is not allowed to escalate its use of force in response to physical resistance. This is so retarded that it shouldn’t really need explanation. Combined with the nature of the agitators described above, this is why the officer immediately pepper sprayed Pretti, and then why all of them piled onto him once the decision was made to detain him. They didn’t play around because they knew they were dealing with a hostile actor who could either attack them or attempt to escape from arrest, as he had actually done already on a previous occasion (I would speculate that it’s possible the officers recognized Pretti and were looking for an opportunity to detain him, but that’s pure speculation at this point).
In any world where law enforcement is going to be a thing at all, it must obviously be true that law enforcement can and will escalate its use of force when faced with physical resistance. If they tell you to move, and you don’t move, what exactly do you think should happen next? They just shrug their shoulders and give up? This is the same brain-meltingly stupid mindset as the “abolish the police” people who thought we were going to solve crime with “community policing” where social workers just somehow talk everyone down from criminal behavior. Pure lunacy.
If Alex Pretti and whoever that woman was didn’t want to be handled with force, then the proper remedy is that they shouldn’t have been interfering with law enforcement activities. If their true intention was only to film, they easily could have done so from a reasonable distance without ever getting anywhere near the ICE agents, attempting to direct traffic around them while they are making an arrest, etc. One last time, I’ll ask you to imagine that the next time you see cops arresting someone, you decide to run up to them and dance around them at the closest possible distance without technically touching them while blowing a whistle and shouting “I’m not touching you! I’m not touching you!” Now imagine doing that and then turning around and whining that your rights as a “peaceful protester” are being violated if the cops dare to do anything about it.

Some of the 2A bros got really retarded on this one. Probably mostly libertarians and closeted leftists (but I repeat myself), but I actually believe less in the right to bear arms now that I’ve seen the idiot side of the online 2A crowd.
"Assault me, motherfucker!” is a pretty brave thing to do? How about its a way to make money?
Go ahead and go to google. Type Need Bail and Lawyer protesting in Los Angels and see what comes up. Now follow the instructions and write down the number with a black marker on your arms and legs.
Now get arrested for as big of a crime as you can get. Then let the NGO post your bail in YOUR NAME. Then wait for the charges to be dropped and have the bail money given back to you. It is the finest way to pay "protestors" ever. Now does that change your perspective of our unemployed hero?
You and I go do that and we are using a bail bondsgirl who has it secured against assets I have and comes with a charge.
